Costa Rica Feb-March 2010
Me and my wife Agnetha travelled around Costa Rica by car for 2,5 weeks. Costa Rica is a small really nice country with a many kinds of different nature. There are beautiful beaches, rainforest, cloud forest, active volcanos, Caribbean lowlands and high mountains. My name is Christer Landgren, married to Agnetha and we have two grown-up kids.
We live in Vellinge in most southern part of Sweden and that means that we live in the best birding community in Sweden (my opinion). In Vellinge “county”, roughly 15*15 km, 351 species are recorded which is not bad comparing to many other places all over the world. I live just 20 minutes away from Falsterbo, famous all over the world as a migrating point during the autumn. A really good day you can get 16-18 different raptors passing over your head. As you can see I have done some birding abroad and on this page I am publishing photos and small trip report. Most of my travels have been with the family. The birding trips have been to Camargue, Lesbos, Texas and Israel. I have to admit I really like birding in new exciting places where most of the birds are new. These days I also do some photographing but still the birding is the most important. I use a Canon 7D, the flexible 100-400 mm and a 17-85 mm. Earlier I did some digiscoping with the famous Coolpix, the photos from Texas were taken with that camera.
